DAY #2 - Enhancing My Drawing Skills - Drawing Hands

in art •  8 years ago

Today I decided to draw a hand. Hands have always been that particular part of the human body that I found pretty hard to nicely draw. Most of the times the fingers were very unrealistic or anatomically incorrect. Since I'm doing this drawing challenge I took the opportunity to do a little hand study today and draw a photo realistic hand.

I used the hand of God from Michelangelo's 'Creation of Adam' as a reference today.

The end result

So I am actually quite happy with the end result (especially if you're comparing it to previous hands I've drawn). I did struggle a litlle bit with the composition of the fingers and had to change it a couple times before I finally got it right. The thing I liked the most was the shading. I took my advice from yesterday and the shading looks somewhat realistic to me. I'm pretty satisfied with this end result. Let me know what you think and where I can improve.
