Sneak Peek of New Painting on my Easel!

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

This year marks my tenth year that I started painting, and I started painting like a maniac. To test the skills and focus that I've learned since then, I decided to really challenge myself for a new piece for my academic portfolio. By integrating a manipulated portrait of my grandmother into my current interest of illusionistic geometry, I am testing what I know best. It's definitely been a seriously difficult painting, but I've been patient with it. I should be done within the next week or two! Here's a sneak peek detail! I've actually worked several more hours on it since I photographed this haha :) Full, finished version coming soon!!

In my studio...still working on cleaning up details and refining my grandma's likeness. It's 16"x20". I started with house paint and acrylics, and I am finishing with oils.

Lol, does this mean this painting hurts your head? It certainly hurts mine painting it haha!

Whoa ouch 😹✔️

Gorgeous work! If it looks this beautiful unfinished cannot wait to see the finished version. Hypnotic eyes.

Thank you! I'm flattered. I always spend so much more time on the eyes. It's what we look at anyway :) I think the extra time on it will be worth it!

Nice painting art work 🤘🏼✔️

Thank you!!
