"Lichen Study"

There are over 3,600 different species of lichen in North America alone. From tundras to deserts. On the mainland and surrounding islands. They are simple at glance but ever more complex the closer that you look. In fact lichen are formed through a symbiotic relationship between fungi and algae. Simply put they are fascinating.
