Dr. MLK Jr. will always remain a legend for his peaceful protests/marches during the civil rights movement. Everywhere you go, you will surely find a street, a place, a building, or anything in between named after him.
He will always be remembered for his acts of benevolence in the face of such hardships and violence toward the African American people. Many gather to celebrate in remembrance of what he did for not only African Americans, but for our Nation as a whole.
Today, we thank Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for allowing us to live together— peacefully.

I happened to see a video clip of him on Facebook yesterday. In his speech, he said when his attacker knifed him, the blade was so close to the main artery of the heart, the doctor said if he had sneezed, he would have died. He was that closed to death then. I thought that was an interesting trivia. :-)

It is indeed. I was unaware that Martin Luther was knifed. My only excuse is that I am Australian. It takes a lot of anger and screwed up thinking to actually hurt another human being like that.
