Hello guys, for this post we want to share the process of another scene for the story we are working on. The story is about a Master Crocodile and his crew's magical journey to the "Greatest Temple"... And we are currently designing the land where Master Crocodile was raised and grew up in.
We want the tone of the story to have sense of fantasy elements on top of it being Chinese culture inspired. For this particular scene Qianjiao looked at another ergonomics with is "tent structure."
Here is what we are thinking of, where the tent structure can act as a form of disguise; a transformative element; a lift; or a wrapper to transform the houses into a much smaller volume.
PROCESS- STEP 1
How did we think of tents as an element for design?
As our last post mentioned, we want to reference Lhasa - A region in China, and as a religious place, there are a lot of hanging "colorful flags",they actually have Tibetan-language scriptures on them. They are meant to be a form of protection for Tibetan combat animals. Also we want to design the city where Master Crocodile grew up to have elements of culture, and mechanic tool structures. So that's how we thought of "tent", a protective, functional structure...

PROCESS- STEP 2
After getting enough inspiration to spark our idea. Qianjiao drew some quick sketches of the tent itself and how it might work.
PROCESS- STEP 3
Then Qianjiao sketched how tent would work with the Architecture together in a scene.
In the end we keep these ideations as menu items we can pull from as the story evolves... We need you guys' comments to let us know what you think is cool and want to see from our story~
Hope to see your comments~
