I have a print of this wonderful painting hanging in my hall. I just love its fun and colour. I was annoyed not to be able to photo it but my hall is too narrow to get a good shot.
Joan Miró i Ferrà lived from 20 April 1893 – 25 December 1983.
Wikipedia tells us:
'He was a Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist born in Barcelona. A museum dedicated to his work, the Fundació Joan Miró, was established in his native city of Barcelona in 1975, and another, the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, was established in his adoptive city of Palma de Mallorca in 1981.'
Wow, I wish I could visit the exhibitions!
Invaluable
Above is another of my favourites. It makes me think of dogs and birds dashing away for each other. Again, I love the colours and the movement is brilliant. This painting makes me laugh.
Miró's art has been called Surreal. I just think it's a representation of how he saw the world. Maybe that's Surrealism, I don't know.
What do you think?
Here's another one I like a lot:
This painting is called 'The Garden'.
It looks like digital art to me, maybe done on Krita. Of course, it can't be because Miró lived too long ago.
I like the flowers and the creatures. I think I can see two birds and a worm.
There are two figures standing on two legs. Are they a adult and child or a person with a dog?
The sky is full of exciting things. What are they? I have ideas but I'd love to know what you think :)
