Blue, Acrylic on Paper 2016

Back before I discovered oil pastels, I used to bring full on acrylics to figure drawing. This is my first painting from a live model. I only painted the long poses of course. It was pretty annoying hauling around all that stuff, so I am quite glad I discovered oil pastels!

Anyway, I think this came out well. Painting from a real model gives one a much better feel for shapes and shadows. Three dimensions are much better than two!

I’m posting every painting I have ever done from 2014 to the present, the good, the bad, and the ugly. With an occasional photograph or sketch thrown in just to mix things up. Check back daily to see my progression as an “artist”!
