The investigators have concluded their business in this cafe. Mookie is a little bitter because prohibition has just been put into effect and now his favorite saloon has been converted into a tea shop.

He's obviously pretty salty about this, as evidenced by the confrontation he's getting into with Joseph Dunwich, the creepy owner of the new establishment.

A lot of my character's names reference different Lovecraft stories, but I assure you that this Joseph Dunwich has no direct connection to "The Dunwich Horror." I also know that this guy looks very creepy and so you'll want to assume he's a bad guy. Let me just set the record straight and say that not every character whose name references a Lovecraft story is a bad guy!

I really like that on this page we get to see Ruth, Hazel, Mookie, and Margaret standing around in the city of Ithaca. I'm new to this whole writing comics business, but to me it feels very important to ground the story in a concrete world that seems tangible. I'm a bit of a wordy writer so it's hard for me to not just have 5 pages of talking heads in a row. I have to force myself to show these characters interacting with the world they live in.

My hope is that ultimately the city of Ithaca will feel like a character, it's mood changing with the seasons, the time of day, what year it is. The location is important, but I suppose that's obvious when a comic called Ithaqa takes place in the city of Ithaca...

The style is great, but I'm also intrigued with your creative process and how you are developing the story. Keep the posts coming.

I was very lucky that Theresa found me, she's been fantastic to work with :)

Are you writening the storyline?

Yes, I'm the writer and Theresa is the artist.

That is awesome!

Thanks, I agree! My team I and I found eachother through deviant art and digital webbing if you're looking to start a collaboration of your own :)
