Angry Cat Original Charcoal Pencil Drawing By EdgarsArt

in art •  8 years ago

This is my original Angy Cat Charcoal Drawing 60x90cm. This is one of those works which i still have in my home. No one has purchased it yet. Actually this is a rare work with an expression like this. For the last year, i have not made many "sad" works. Mostly i am drawing thoughtful or happy expressions. I used to do that when i started years ago,but along the way i changed a bit my style. When i just started, i was making every work black and white I did that for almost 2 years. Than i started to paint, to paint with acrylic, and than i learned how to draw with prismacolor pencils and now i have many many more goals in my mind and mediums i want to try.
This particular drawing took me about 150 hours to complete. Many people have asked me: How can i invest so many hours. How can i be so patient to do something for so long. Just one drawing, one work. And i have just one simple answer. If i can do something i love and i don't have to do something that will make my life sad and pointless-Than i have no problem working 24 hours a day even.

Charcoal is ideal for making a variety of different lines very quickly. After working with charcoal, you will probably get your hands and face dirty. Sometimes i wonder how it can almost every time get on there also:D But don't worry, charcoal cleans up easily with plenty of soap. I am working with charcoal pencils. But just like other mediums, charcoal comes in several different varieties. Each has its own attributes; which one you ultimately choose will depend largely on personal preference. For me-Charcoal pencils are the most suitable.
For details i am using and eraser. There are numerous types of erasers that work well with charcoal, but the kneaded eraser is one of the best. A kneaded eraser is very soft, and can be molded and manipulated

Very life like its fab well done :)

Absolutely amazing!

Thank you:) Great to hear that especially from you:)

Well thanks for that!

You're welcome.

magnifico!

Truly if you are expert with a particular genre or medium or whatever u call charcoal art, why would you choose to expand into other types like acrylic?

I know there are no real rules but why experiment when you have so much talent in one niche if you understand my question . . .

Simply beautiful work, did you duct-tape the cat to the wall to help maintain the subjects pose ? ? ?

Love your ART ! ! !

That is because i think every artist should develop his artistic skills. And taking the fact that life is so short, it would be a shame not to try and achieve every goal there is to achieve in this lifetime. It enriches your knowledge an simply makes you a better person overall. At least i think so. That is like learning a second and third language. It would be fine to know one, but great to know more. More opportunities etc.
And thank you so much for your support:)

I unfortunately have no artistic appreciation, I am musically " tone deaf " the sounds that make others seem amazed are just noises to me. I am on the ' dark side ' of 50 but I have started investigating Spanish for different reasons.

Why I cannot understand you dabbling in different mediums of art is that I am simply useless, since I am a failure at finger painting I cannot imagine having a real solid talent and then choosing not to use that talent but to adventure elsewhere, just my own point of view.

I am not trying to say you are wrong, just saying I would love the ability to do one thing and be proud; if you can understand that attitude. No criticism intended, just a thought . . .

Wonderfull @edgarsart!
I see the cat but then my imagination takes over and in first drawing I see a fearless tiger and as look more I see a human plagued with many problems...
It is just awesome ...and what I want to explain is that you captured an expresion that if you look it from different angles you see something different and that is trully art!

Hey:) Big thank you:) Highly appreciated:) And your right, that is why i made these photos, they may seem all the same at first, but actually they are really different!

Wow! Incredibly realistic! Great piece of art!

He doesn't seem that angry to me. Looks more like he's stoned.

Really impressed by this work! A show of patience and skill.
