The Biggest Challenges An Artist Needs To Face By EdgarsArt

I guess that the biggest and the most popular task for any artist is the cash flow. Sooner or later it kicks in. It is very much related to the marketing aspect too, how to get visible, how to appear and to simply be and to stay relevant.
Sure there are many people who may never ever start, never pursue this carrier just because of the missing possibilities to earn. Some people may have the skills, the knowledge natural talent, amazing thoughts, ideas, but they may work 15 hours a day, living day to day and they just can not pursue it. They do not believe in it, they do not have the people who would encourage them. Some may even say: Are you crazy? You have this or that to do etc.

But of course it depends on every person individually. Everyone knows their strengths and what they are good at and what now. Some may struggle with marketing but they have material. Some may have the popularity but they can not produce as much as they want to. In the first years of being an artist and doing it more than full time every day I produced so much material every day-3-4 finished drawing, commissions, videos, i was doing online marketing in the evenings for like 3 hours every day. I did all i could to get myself out there. At one point i was on 5-6 social media sites, so just posting the latest drawing of mine, a video, article took me an hour or more. All of that gave me some results of course. I can not say that i did all, did everything right etc,and that i am happy about what i got from all of that, but i do have some things to be happy for. I got a good and running youtube channel, i spread my name out there, i got my very first exhibition, i could work as an illustrator for a magazine. All of those things helped me, not financially which was missing at that point, but anyway i am grateful for all of that.

Now i focus more on the quality and my time is limited now. I am older a bit and i have many things to care about, and can not forget my personal life too, people i love and care about. Now i think is the time to focus more on the quality rather than quantity. But i do believe at some point you have to do all, when no-one knows you, because there are so many people who are just an hungry as you or even more, and to stand out is a hard thing to do. Sometimes the best way is to try to outwork most of the people. That is what i am hoping anyone is doing, in whatever we all do, do focus on the quality and not to forget our families, loved ones, because at the end for what are we working and succeeding. For the respect, love and just being a warm-heated human being i think.

Quality will always win ;-)

I have a friend who is / was a painter. She supported herself and her disabled partner, wining painting competitions. It was a hard, sparse life.

She had to give both of them up in the end, as the lifestyle was killing her. She now works as a nurse and is very happy.

I don't think her art has gone away, but she just has a different focus now. And 'm sure once she has enough income to live comfortably, she'll go back to her art and be able to enjoy painting for the sheer joy of creating art.

An artist's life can be hard work, but then again, so can a coder's life ;-)

The important thing is to enjoy what you have while you have it and share your passion for what you do to inspire others to also follow their dreams.

Oh it is so true. I mean everyone has a hard time, it can be anything you do, not taking anything away from everyone. Any sphere has its ups and downs and without some we could not even life our peaceful lives.
It is essential to have the passion for sure, if we have this, we can do anything, because it relates to what i said-we can not push ourselves, we have to do something we actually love

That is indeed a very beautiful art i hope everything will turn out to be even better in future, for sure i can never resist such a piece of art.

Thank you for this amazing compliment:)

I believe people begin drawing or any art because of passion, not because of need or a desire to be known. I can see the passion in your work. it's beautiful.

Great art work. Keep it up. I love this.
