For the last bit of this adventure, we’re going to see the work I contributed to our Seniors Week exhibition.
This first piece was painted with my partner in crime Jen Chernecki when I had just met her about a year ago. We met at the comic jam and hit it off like in the 20s. Both exuberant and loud, we were playful with each other and that was very entertaining. I really liked the non-judgemental way she looked at things and how she wasn’t interested in American politics because this neighborhood needs all the attention it can get. Politically that is!
Our painting Lust is bright colourful and has a sex-positive title. It is fitting for an explosive duo who would move on to be in a nudist play together.
This recent pic was taken at battle of the brushes superhero edition; stay tuned for my next post.
Those are my best watercolour paintings of 2017. I think I have improved with my skies which gives the composition much need drama. They are a little tame which reflect the fact that I paint from a small bedroom as opposed to a studio. You can feel the quiet nature of my environment. I meditated making them and one can meditate looking at them too.
My least favourite part is the shadow on the waterfall, it feels over worked but it’s not so bad. One of their strength is the atmospheric perspective which induces day-dreaming. I also like the transparency of the blue boat, it feels unexpected and speaks to the ephemeral nature of the experience... OF LIFE!
This is the Afghan Girl which @Curie helped me make into such an uncanny Steemit hit for a humble minnow like me. I made a tutorial of the early to middle stages which you can find here.
This last one is From Mariko Kurahashi. The title Happy Neko is named after the wonderful hostel I stayed in Beppu, city of hot springs. Onsen such is the word for hot spring. Isn’t it beautiful?
Lastly, here is a video about the event as a whole.
Dear Artzonian, thanks for using the #ArtzOne hashtag. Your work is valuable to the @ArtzOne community. Quote of the week: Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics. -Victor Pinchuk
