After being at the Maasai Mara for a week, I have now come to appreciate African art on a whole new level. I used to think it was all fiction and art, but now I realize it is a true representation of events that happen in the continent.
Take this animals for instance, I can now clearly see where the inspiration came from. I can see the African jungle and the wildlife that resides in it. Just as how this artist has presented in his drawings.
The Maasai Community was also something I experienced first hand. Their source of livelihood is their livestock. They live on milk and blood whichh is what this next image is demonstarting. Just Beautiful!
Funnily, I came across this task the child is drinking from at Maasai Market a few days ago. It is an exact representation of how to use it.
And of course, there's the Maasai Women whom I feel are super surpressed by their community. Women literally do everything in their homestead. From being the bread winner, to building houses, to taking care of their children, to cooking and house chores, you name it.
Living in the 21st C, I feel this community has a long way to go. Lucky are the once that find a way to get out and build a life of their own out there than remaining opressed by their culture and community.
All in all, I think we can all agree the artists who did this pieces did a remarkable job with them. I loved them. Did You?
See You on the Next Post!

Pretty cool paintings that represent the daily lives of this community.
