Looks like its real . Crazy skills ✔✔😉

Thank you!

I like your work better than the real butterfly - beautiful shading and bedazzling.!

Thank you! Nature is full of inspiration, so glad I can share this tribute here.

Did you realize that the butterfly is an "X" not just in name but form?

I see it, you have such an eye for detail. In a way, perhaps your inner artist is a chrysalis, on its way to becoming a butterfly too ☺

aw...that's sweet....I'm still in my cocoon bc it's very cold outside and I'm too shy to come out of my shell. :)

you're right, I do love it! Is that metallic paint? whatever it is, it fits perfectly for this piece! I love the purple color a lot and the deep gold (?) out the outsides really contrasts well with the glittery white next to it.
Well....yep, this is my favorite one so far now. It just replaced the other one!

Yay! I'm glad you like it! I figured the purple would be right up your alley. I added the glitter watercolor to simulate the Xerces' shimmery wings. And also I like to sneak in metallic or glitter everywhere I can.
Thank you for commenting!

Good job finding a classic X object to draw/pen/ink/color/glitter. I probably would have only come up with "X marks the spot" , and have a dog named Spot standing on an X. Xerces is MUCH more interesting. And very very sad it is extinct.
Nice works, love the detail and coloration. Only two more to go, pretty amazing you've done 24 all the way through. Hmm, Y...Old Yeller? Nevermind....hope you have a nice night, what's left of it.

Extinction holds a certain kind of sad fascination, doesn't it? Spot marks the X, now that's a good one!
Yes, we're very nearly at the end of this challenge, and it's been fun sharing the ride. I'm looking forward to exploring whatever is coming next! Interacting with everyone during this challenge has opened the floodgates of ideas in my mind, I love it.

Thanks for your support, ddschteinn ☺

So glad this has opened up your floodgates of creativity. That is such a fun place to be. Nice when you can't even keep up with your brain. So much to put forth, so little time.
It is not hard to support your creativity, it is far reaching and fun. And I enjoy the interaction about it. Well, I h ope you are having a nice New Years eve, and the year brings more great things. Full Steem Ahead.

Col piece for this letter, you almost made it until the end! The shading and details on the body give it the good looks, but the coloring just does the trick for me. 🙆

Speaking the language of color! Thanks for stopping by to comment - yes we almost made it to Z!

the shading you did here is awesome! glitter on fleek!

Lol, thank you!

Whoa this is super cool... would look so legit in a frame with the scientific name on it like they used to do turn of the century with the pins and insects... lovin the shimmer!!

Ah! What a compliment! Artistic renditions of pinned creatures seem a lot less destructive than specimens captured from nature. Thank you ☺

Ahh it's so pretty! And a very interesting choice of X :D

goatsig

Thank you! Periwinkles are some of my favorite colors ☺
