Crayons and pastels are fun to work with, though they can be über messy if their little crumbs are not attended. You've got painting skillz, I'd like to see what you could do with other media.

Took a look at @achristopherart his work, I can see why you felt inspired! Those crayon skills are tight, I somehow don't like the feel of crayons, so big ups to that one. And those origami shrooms, pfff, higher levels right there! 💃

While I do like crayons, I still feel like ink is my #1 favorite. Ink is fast, bold and permanent, so we have to be deliberate with it! Crayons are more gentle and forgiving (like a comfortable sweatshirt).
Anthony Christopher's work is right up my alley, nice and inky. So glad I could bridge you to new artwork! His supernova mind time-lapse on d-tube was wicked awesome.

Wow, who knew you could make an origamishroom. So way cool. I look very forward to your diorhama and 'Island of the Misfit's' you were discussing with @winstonalden. That has so much of a potential for a great art project and epic post. Close ups, close ups...
As for eating mushrooms, I usually stick to the standard, Jr. Portabello's, unless I'm with someone who really knows their stuff. I value my liver and all, since I'm clueless about them in general. Have a nice day today.

I am discovering there is an entire Universe of origami the further on this journey I travel. I'm looking forward to the end project too, it's been decades since I've made a diorama! I'll get some good shots on the next stop, definitely.
I'm with you, you won't catch me eating any wild fungi out on my own. If I were out with a guide, someone like our venerable @haphazard-hstead, I'd feel much less paranoia about wild dining.

'Preciate you! Going back to the basics here. Crayons were fun 20 years ago and they're fun still today. While I've been working on this one, I've been thinking about how to successfully mix crayon with liquid acrylic. Caution: wild colors ahead!

Love the drawing! I've always been bad with crayons so I'm always amazed at people's creations with them. Yours reminded me of the time I went mushroom picking with a basket exactly like that.

I've had a LOT of time with crayons, drawing this was like meeting an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time. The origami version is going to take some practice, for sure.
Mushrooms are (usually) delicious! I bet picking them in the wild was a memorable experience, that's something I have yet to do.

Oh you have to go mushroom picking! It's the most fun. Is there a story behind the (usually) delicious? I sense it.
Seoul is cold and I've been redoing my new apartment so I'm covered in paint and dust 90% of the time and entirely exhausted the other 10%. Going to write about it as soon as I get my wifi connection on Monday!

I've met some mushrooms that taste too strong for my liking. I got a mixed mushroom blend from the grocery store once that had a funky fungus in it I didn't really enjoy.
I like tasting new things, like this chocolate reishi kombucha. It was unusual at first, but it tasted better with each sip, and by the end I decided I liked it.

Mushrooms are fascinating to me because they are in a category of their own, nothing else quite like fungus. As much as I love using liquid media, going back to dry media is enjoyable too.

Oh that's a good idea!!! Fairy rings are not a super common sight here since the climate is a bit dry, yet I have seen them and they are amazing. When I lived Down East (rains a lot out there) they'd pop up all over the place. I've even seen two rings that 'overlap' to make a sort of Venn diagram shape.
