As a photography enthusiast, I tend to explore the places where I don't normally go to, simply because of the motivation that I get when capturing these places through my lens.
And I have to admit that there are places that I personally prefer for the simple reason that it actually looks good in my photos. These are the places that serve as my go-to location whenever I don't have any idea as to where will shoot next.
One of the other reasons is due to the urge to get a better photo of the same subject which sometimes depend on certain environmental conditions on a specific day. Especially for shooting outdoors, the exact same scene with have a different mood on a specific time of the day or a specific type of weather.
In my several years of photography here in Singapore, I came up to My Top 5 Places for photography and I have my reasons why. Let's begin with...
Marina Bay
First stop, one of the most visited places here in Singapore - the Marina Bay. I chose this for a simple reason that there are quite a number of possibilities for architectural & street photography.
Captured in the picture is the Sands hotel (3-pillared hotel & casino building with a boat shape skygarden on top) and the Art-Science museum (lotus flower shape building).
Clarke Quay
This is probably one of the most exciting places here in Singapore, where local professionals chill after a long day work. It's a good place to unwind and get some good food.
Tourist also find their way here through the boat ride along the Singapore river.
Keppel Bay
I fell in love with this place for the same reason, it's because of the amazing architecture and how it is being reflected on the surface of the bay.
And for those who prefer a less busy area compared to Marina bay, this should be the best spot since there are less tourist are visiting the Keppel bay.
Tanjung Rhu
Whenever I feel like going for a relax photo day or night, I normally end up shooting at Tanjung Rhu.
Aside from the amazing old and new architectural buildings, it is also situated at the bank of the Kallang river. It's a great place to capture a nice and subtle reflection of the buildings along the river.
Palau Ubin
Save the best for last, my final pick is Palau Ubin, it's considered to be that last frontier of Singapore. It's a natural reserve and there isn't any sign of urban development which makes it relaxing to be here.
For a person like who highly preferred natural landscape or seascape, this place is one the best location for nature photography.
So that's about it! But even though I've been to a lot of places here in Singapore, there are other places that I haven't explored yet. My top 5 list is just the beginning, I will be adding more places to this list as I progress on my photography journey.
Cheers!

Oh, actually I'm back already, but definitely a lot of photos to review and upload here. I'm sad that I didn't have my DSLR with me, but it was a very vigorous trip, so it would be a bit tough to bring it all around with me. Luckily the mobile phones nowadays manage to get some decent looking photos.

Yup, smartphones are getting better. I've seen the sunset shot, at first I can't believe they it was shot using smartphone because it looks so clean. DSLRs do have more option and features. But it's the skill that counts and not the gear.😉
