Hello everyone! How are you?
For the month of May, we had more than 50 students. For a typical formal classroom setting, that is just very normal here in the Philippines. When you say an art class, every second counts for the art teacher and assistants because it is just so demanding.
For today, allow me to skip on what I promised (our short trip and vacation to Davao City) and share to you something.
This is one of my students for the MWF class schedule. Her canvas was still, as others call it, almost blank. I could not help it but be worried at her seeing she's about to cry. She wanted to paint a scenery and decided to show me how she wanted it to be done. I told her then, you must trust me that this will work out. And so she did.
Her sea was just plain blue at first, phthalo blue to be exact. I told her I am going to point areas where she need to put some white and blue paint and blend it. I also told her to make certain strokes to create beautiful clouds. Thirty minutes had passed and she was through.
I am so proud of her and it makes me happy knowing that I can be an effective art teacher. It makes me happier that my years of being a self-taught artist can be useful to a number of kids.
Keep shining batch May 2019! Give it up then for June - July batch!
