Freedom of Zen Drawing by me

Here is a 20x speedvideo of me drawing my big "Freedom of Zen" drawing, drawing twisters relaxes me if I am a bit stressed ... my mind empties out... this has thus far resulted in 4 books with twisters for coloring, all twisters handdrawn by me, Why did I make my Twister drawings into adult coloring books too ? Well because I heard from colorists that they found it relaxing to color the twister as it gave the opportunity to just play with colors and movement...

My first book was "The Twister Chill Pill 1" My friend Johanna Ans colored all 50 Twisters from that book and created a great article about it that I will share with you here so you can see some of the awesome colored examples of the twisters (Johanna is dutch, so after each english section there is a translation to dutch)

Maria made me this collage of some of my colorings of her book, I am so proud of it, looks awesome!

The most gorgeous book ever for me, I dreamed about this kind of book for years, and I got the oppertunity to start to color before it came out.... I did over 30, and I will finish this book in a short time...it is a commitment to myself, but also to Maria.

Ik vind het een prachtboek, ik droomde er al van dat er eens een boek zou komen zoals dit, en dan kreeg ik nog de kans om alle platen in te zien, en te mogen kleuren voordat het boek uit is. Ik heb er al 30 af, en heb mezelf en Maria beloofd, ze alle 50 in te kleuren

What a fun do I have, when I saw the pages blanc, for me the next onliner came up: "Choose the wave you wanna ride!!"

En plezier heb ik met dit boek...gelijk een one-liner bedacht, di egbruikt werd door Maria...ik mocht de inleidende tekst schrijven voor haar boek!

En natuurlijk gaan we eerst even in het boek kijken, en kijk eens naar die prachtige ingekleurde kaft, gekleurd door de Nederlandse artieste Ellen Wolters

I will show some of my colored work... I gave all my colored pages a name...this one is called "Global Wave", colored with Spectrum Noir markers and ShinHan Twin Touch. I like to see the back to, its art on his own way to be!

Ik wil jullie wat van mijn ingekleurde werk laten zien, alle platen heb ik een eigen titel gegeven. Global Wave heet deze, en heb die ingekleurd met Markers. Ik hou ook van de doordruk van de achterkanten.

The next I call "FireRide", was fun to do, with Stabilo 68 and some gelpens

The next is called the Wave of the Flyfish", could not think on anything else to become, I used my Stabilo 68 pen again

It was great to see how this flower grows...so its called "Wave a Flower", also wit a great backside because of the markers

Ik kan nog veel meer laten zien, maar dat doe ik niet, Maria maakt namelijk een video van alle 52 ingekleurde platen. Die komt uiteraard in een volgend blog terug!

I can tell you, these drawings will give you rest and harmony to color, you "see" things in the lines, uuh, I do, and I can not leave that thought...I just do see the flower, or the fish, or others. I missed one, I could not find in the waves... but You know me, I make it my way, i missed Cats...so I did that my way. Use your imagination, just go with the flow, Ride the Wave and you will go with the Flow!

Ik kan jullie vertellen, dit inkleuren geeft rust en harmonie, je ziet je eigen dingen ook in de tekeningen, ik kan het dan ook niet laten om gewoon ook mijn eigen patroon in te kleuren. Zo zag ik een vis, een bloem, maar er was er eentje die ik niet kon vinden.... een kat...maar jullie kennen me, die maak ik dan wel. Gebruik je fantasie en laat je gewoon lekker gaan
