Brilliant both, the painting and the drawing. I like the info you gave as a reference.

Thank you Mirjana!

This is so amazing! I thought it was a photo of a real statue at first glance! So very realistic!

Hello! Thanks for subscribing. You have very laborious graphics technique, it is very valuable. How much time did you spend on creating this work?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

This one took just around a week.

Creativity, drawing is your work, or is it a hobby for the soul?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

It's my job and (sometimes) also my passion.

Tell us about work, are you a designer?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

I'm a painter, did only a few designs and illustrations over the years.

Illustrations for books to order? They were published?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Oh yes, you can see most of them here: http://gric.at/illustrations/

Wow. The detail and the handling of color are surprising. It looks like a digital piece.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Thanks! It's based on a digital reference.

I love this. I don't know why. It's so simple and complicated at the same time, and very sci fi looking.

Thanks @ryivhnn!

Beautifully realized Gric! Your textures add so much to experience. I'm glad you included the detail shots and your sketch. Is it unusual to mix acrylic and oil? Which parts of the painting are oil or acrylic?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Thank you @sphericalart! On this piece I used the oils only for the final glazing. When you mix acrylics with oils always make sure the oil is on the top and not the other way around!

Thanks for the explanation. I also asked the same question to @borisindrikov, who also achieves incredible textures, as seen here. One more question, do you employ 3D modeling to create the plan for your paintings?

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Yes I do. Many of my paintings or are based on 3D-modeled references.

Β  Β· Β 7 years agoΒ

Great work. Super.
