It is a privilege to live in this planet populated by insects, especially because these small animals are so particular, some very colorful and beautiful as the butterflies. Whenever I go for a walk with my parents to the river we come across beautiful butterflies of different colors that flutter over puddles of water. Inspired by these memories I set out to draw a blue butterfly that I share next:
BLUE BUTTERFLY
MATERIALS EMPLOYED
For the realization of this drawing I needed only one page of white paper, varied colors and a graphite pencil.
PROCESS
I started drawing with the graphite pencil the figure and the details of the wings of the butterfly, I did not worry so much in giving a good definition to the lines since I only needed to create the sketch at this point.
With a black color I began to highlight the lines I had drawn with pencil, and also took the opportunity to fill in the edges of the wings that were also black. I painted the body of the butterfly using a navy blue and black color, to give it a luminous touch.
To paint the wings I made a selection of colors, choosing light blue, king blue, naval blue, light green and dark. Playing with these five colors I made gradients and combinations in the first section of the wing.
In the lower section of the wing I used only the three shades of blue, painting the area near the edge lighter.
On the other side of the wings I practically repeating the same process, painting the lower area with blue to give clarity to the drawing.
To finish the wings of this butterfly I painted the upper right side using the green and blue tones.
FINAL RESULT
To give an attractive touch to the drawing I decided to paint a background similar to a sunset, for this I used red, orange and yellow colors. Here you can see the final result:
Drawing insects is becoming one of my favorite activities, I like the complexity of their bodies and the peculiar colors they possess. I hope this drawing has been to your liking and remember that if you want to support my work you can do it with your vote.
This is a beautiful piece of art
