I use much darker tones with this art work. Deep red/brown to project the time of day turning into night with the orange giving the sunset highlights. You can see the cast below reflecting off the lake water using lighter and dark blues. The green shades for the trees but deep dark green as if shadows.
The mountains blending in with the blue to explain the fog and water absorbing the blue tones around them saying the fog is coming. I look at this and think, how cool would that be to have a house right here watching the play of gods play out.
