Olmedo and its Mudéjar Theme Park of Castilla y León

In the restless mind of the pilgrim resound, like a deep and distant echo, the mysterious words of a French philosopher, Paul Elouard, who left written for posterity the famous phrase of: there are other worlds, but they are in this one.

One of those worlds, as well know the pilgrims and travelers who travel indefatigable by the endless Castilian plains or even those who do it for land of the old Sobrarbe, a term that was called in the Middle Ages the ancient Kingdom of Aragón- is a very particular part of an artistic style related to the Camino, the Romanesque one, which, counting on Arab builders as a main workforce, not only left an indelible cultural imprint of Hispanic-Muslim nature, but also, in the economic terrain, cheaper costs, replacing the stone-not always the quarries were in the vicinity, with the consequent difficulty and higher cost of transport, with lighter and easier to get, as is the brick elements.

More austere and less prolific in terms of ornamentation, it is true - remember, however, that Muslims were strictly prohibited from reproducing images - but lighter, no less complex in terms of sacred geometry applied and in a way, harmonics and elegant as a whole, temples of Mudejar constitution have always been relegated to an undeserved second plane.

Perhaps for this reason, as well as the approach, honest in any way, to exploit the cultural and historical aspects of some temples, which after all, constitute an excellent heritage heritage, Olmedo - the Villa of the Seven Sevens (1) - welcomes, surely to further enhance the fame of a city example of the glorious Spanish Golden Age, known worldwide thanks to the prolific pen of one of its most famous writers, Don Lope de Vega and Carpio, a small treasure of leisure-cultural entertainment that , reproducing with amazing perfection part of the main temples (2), castles (3) and even a civil building (4) of that Castilian Mudéjar heritage, constitutes a small delight for the senses: the Mudéjar Theme Park of Castilla y León .

Notes:

(1) It was so called during the Middle Ages, because it had seven villages in its alfoz, seven arches of entry, seven churches, seven convents, seven pipes or fountains and seven noble houses.
(2) San Salvador de Toro (which was the Temple), San Pedro de Alcazarén, the Assumption of Muriel de Zapardiel, San Tirso de Sahagún, San Andrés and San Miguel de Olmedo, San Juan Bautista de Fresno el Viejo, San Boal de Pozalvez and the Lugareja de Arévalo.
(3) Those of Coca and Mota.
(4) The doors of Medina and Cantalapiedra (Madrigal de las Altas Torres, Ávila), the Palace of Pedro I (Astudillo, Palencia) and the Arch of San Basilio (Cuéllar, Segovia).

hola
que olvidados tenemos el patrimonio.
cuanto me enseñas y cuanto aprendo
