The Appalachian Trail and an Artist

The route I will be walking, traveling from South to North

The Appalachian Trail

Living an authentic life

Most people don't discover what is most important in life until they're too old to do anything about it. They spend the best years of their lives pursuing things that will matter little in the end. Material objects and social media swallow our time and focus like nothing else. While the more basic pleasures which enrich us and sustain us the most are often over looked and taken for granted.
"Everybody is dying, but not everybody is living."
Out of all the people who tread through life working day in, and day out just to make rent, very few will be remembered. We all have it within us to be great, to do great things and to leave positive impressions. We were not put here to worry about money, to bash with politics, to fight over religion, or hate over the color of someones skin. -And I will tell you now I have better things to do, like my best work.
This trip will be separating me from the groves of our society and all the distractions that cause that constant hollow feeling that something is missing.

I love painting nature...sometimes I add my own colors ;)

My plan while on the trail

Beginning April 2017 I am hoping to leave on a 6+ month hike across 14 beautiful states, covering about 2,180 miles by foot on whats known as the Appalachian Trail. Starting in Georgia ending in Maine I want to capture all the fun and beauty with my works of art! This adventure is going to be a doozy, but I'm not sure Im going to be able to make it happen without a little support from the big hearted.
I am planning on documenting my daily experiences by creating drawings and paintings of all I see and encounter. All of my works and stories, along with gear reviews will be posted daily via my blog here on Steemit.com under (katecloud). I invite anyone and everyone to follow along! Post trip, my plan is to compile all my creations and stories into a sort of sketchbook journal. That compilation I will then attempt to have published!
If you would like to support me in my endeavors here is the link to my gofundme account:

Should this trip be a success, and my book is brought to life, I am promising a copy to anyone and everyone who has chipped in no matter how big or small.

Please tell me you're going with some protection, aka a firearm?
I've hiked that the trail along the WV and VA sections and there's plenty of "unfriendly" wildlife along the trail. And I'm referring more about bears!

Ah yes...can't pack sadly due to laws but I'll have bear mace and a healthy knife ;)

Have fun, and good luck!

Ooooh. Pennsylvania. I'm somewhat familiar with that from my trip to America 10 years ago :)

This sounds really exciting and like a cool trip! Make sure to update us now and then! :)

I'd love to do that someday.
