Pointillism and how use this technique in your drawings [art lesson #1]

Today I deside to tell you how I learn a new technigue of drawing. In 1885 France gave rise to the unique direction - pointillism. The peculiarity of these paintings lies in the fact that they are comprised of points.Read more what is the pointillism you can read here.

It was easier than I imagined it =)

Exercise #1

First of all you need take a  sheet of paper and a gel pen. On this sheet I draw a 3 circles

And trying to fill them with points, but so that the density of all circles were different like this:

I like it=) It develops your perseverance =)

Exercise #2

The next step was to draw a rectangle

 

 And try to fill it with point like this:

It was little  harder. I think you do it too. Сongratulations  !!!

Nice.

The basic idea of pointillism, was to generate colour, not on the canvas, but in the space between the canvas, and the eye.

In other words, instead of simply painting a section of a painting orange, they would instead use many different dots, in shades of red, yellow and white (the three basic colours required to make orange). When the eyes view these dots all combined from a small distance, it perceives orange, even though it is actually made up of dots of all three colours.
