The Book of Life and Draw it again!

in art •  7 years ago

Good evening everyone!

I'm chilling at work and figured I'd submit a post here before I start working on Artist Alley at my local anime convention for the weekend. It's gonna be suhweet. I'm always thankful that my friend wants to help me out during those three days, I know they're long days and it's not all that eventful but I appreciate her keeping me company. Doesn't make the time go by so slowly. Lol

Today I just have a couple of random things for ya.

First up is a fanart piece I did a while ago of La Muerte and Xibalba from the animated movie The Book of Life. I -really- like how this turned out and I think in the future here I will redraw it. I like their dynamic as a couple. How he's supposed to be "evil and dark" but La Muerte loves him anyways.

Plus I love drawing sugar skull makeup, it's so beautiful.

And then this next one is just a random "draw it again" exercise I did at the beginning of last year of an earlier drawing I did waaayy back in high school. I remember the high school drawing took me like an hour and a half to draw from start to finish and my re-draw took like.. twenty minutes. Lol. So that's a bit of a difference there.

Just goes to show what a little practice can do for your drawing skills! I look forward to becoming even better and I should do one of these exercises again before the year is up. Just so I can keep track of my progress.

Anyways! Let me know what you think!

Until next time!

I can see improvement. Good stuff.

Great work! :)
As I like to say, there is talent for everything, but nothing can be achieved without hard work and constant practice :)
Your case is another proof of it. Great progress!

Wow the difference is amazing. Were both the drawings done with coloured pencils? The 2016 is so good the strokes can't be seen and it's so expressive especially in the face.
