There's nothing wrong with your vagina. (the coloring book)

I am making a coloring book of female genitalia, with a purpose. (to help women love their bodies)

Here is my story and what motivated me to create this coloring book.

When I was a kid I remember showing another girl my vagina after she had showed me hers. She was confused by it because it was different than her own, I had more stuff there. That was the first time I felt weird about my own vagina. I went to my mother to ask her about my vagina a few years later. Unfortunately, she acted weirded out by my explanation of having longer labia and didn't really talk to me about it at all. My disgust for my anatomy started to grow.

A few years later I dated a guy and we broke up. He stalked me and begged me back. I didn't want him. So he went around spreading rumors about my vagina, and the size of my labia. At this point I had a complete hatred for my body and was embarrassed every time I got undressed around a new person and feared they would run away from my totally normal vagina, because I thought it was a freak.

A few years later another boyfriend told the girl he was cheating on me with that my vagina looked like the moth-man prophecies (what does that even mean?) and she told me this in a nasty myspace email. Boys and their egos, right?

I continued to hate my vagina for many years. Until one day I decided to look at a real vagina gallery online I saw so many different vaginas. And many that were just like mine. Couple that with the information that I learned that a huge percentage of porn stars actually had labiaplasty to alter their vaginas to have that no-lip look every pretends is the norm. (Not that havng no visible lips isn't normal, just every woman being expected to have no visible lips is DEFINITELY not normal because vaginas are god damn unique and every one looks different)

So, there it is, the story of my vagina and the fruition of my vagina book.

And here are some pages from the book which is a work in progress that should be out early-mid next month and contain 40 (diverse) illustrations of female genitalia on single-sided paper.

Thank you. :D I am all about self-expression and all about embracing my quirks. :D

I know plenty of guys and girls that love labia and hair down their.....and some that don't. Love your bits! It's not as if men's penises are uniform either. Does every woman or man want a 12 inch Python? (Not saying it isn't awesome if a guy is generously endowed.) Hygiene is far more important than shape for men and women I would think ;))

Yeah but there really is a huge stigma with longer labia. There are constant jokes about it and growing up I hated myself because of it. Kind of how people treat uncircumcised penises which is just as insane. I do love my bits but I don't love young girls hating themselves because people are uneducated about anatomy. :P

'Love your bits' was a general sentiment for everyone ;)) I agree, no young person should feel bad about themselves because they have been made to feel stigmatised. The desire to 'fit in' can generate all kinds of insecurity that may be exploited by unkind people. One of the best ways to help people with insecurity is a broader perspective. This is something your fantastic art project can give people. I wish you the best of luck.

An artist has made a wall full of casts of vagina from real women. He called that project The Great Wall of Vagina.

And, your post reminded me of that wall.

I'm glad you are doing this, As a coloring book, You are somewhat limited on colors LOL, But I feel like this will help the self esteem of many women, I have felt the same way about my own Vagina, I have sometimes felt unworthly and disgusting because I also have longer Labia,
As a kid I thought that I was some how deformed, Like I was half man half women, That somehow the saggy skin was actually meant to be something else instead of being normal.
Even after seeing the photos of other women I still have felt inferior because of the way I look. But then I saw the piece of art called "the great wall of vaginas" and the majority of them have longer lips.
While I am still somewhat considering getting surgery on mine, I feel like if a guy sees it as a deal breaker, Then he is an asshole.

(I can't believe I'm admitting this on a blockchain that will be forever permanent)

Only if you don't get creative! Also it's more of a statement than a "zen out" coloring book. I think a lot of people will get it for that reason. I already have many women interested. :)

I thought I was deformed too and even thought of cutting my labia off. hahaha. I wouldn't have but I wished i could.

I wouldn't get the surgery. Part of the problem is that most porn stars get the surgery and this perpetuates the issue. Also if a guy thinks it's a deal breaker he is literally a moron that knows nothing of female anatomy and judges women on something he knows nothing about.

I am now 100% fine with my labia. :D JOIN MEEEE.
