It's turned a bit chill to go out plein air painting, but I gave it a go with a friend of mine. This is where we ended up.
We couldn't get to the castle as the grounds are close while they are doing renovations and repairs. But after a little exploring we found this spot on the ridge over looking the castle and the river. It turned out to be a very magical location as sky put on quite a light show.
While the fog did amazing things to the light, it also meant bitterly cold winds were blowing over the ridge. It was time to go.
All in all, I spent more time taking photos than painting. But at least I have great reference shots to work from in the comfort of my studio.
