Result of todays painting session, thoughts and process photos.

Today I needed to work on something new and uncomplicated. I tend to arrive at this ''need'' after some time working on more complex and time consuming paintings.

Today I didn't have much time to set aside for painting either so instead of starting to oil out paintings in the making, I decided to just spend some time playing around with a photo I took of a friend of mine a little while back.

Maybe I will continue on it one day, maybe I won't. I started to paint this more just to practice my skill rather than to make a finished painting. I think it's good to do that every now and again no matter what kind of creative field you're in. Just do something for the sake of it and not because of the result. :)

I absolutely LOVE it !! I'm not sure why but I see so much emotion in her face . Keep up the good work !

Thank you so much @journeyoflife!! :D

Its beautiful paint nice Ty! Follow me back!

Thank you! :D

You're a great painter! Practicing skills are important. In the graphic design world, lots of people do "challenges" to create something every day. For example, people will do a "36 days of type" challenge, where they design a new letter each day, and at the end they've created a full alphabet with numbers 0-9 as well. Have you ever tried something like this in painting?

Thank you very much @feedmebrie! :D No, I haven't actually, byt that is a great idea! :) Thank you! :D

I think you should finish it at some point if you ever feel like it, because you've got a great start here :) But, practicing your skills is the more important thing than finishing each thing you start. Anyways, this looks great :)

Thank you very much @deadspace! :D Maybe I will finish it up one day, if so I'll write a post about it! ^^

Wow, that's incredible, I like seeing the progression.

Just do something for the sake of it and not because of the result. :)

Great advice, applies to many things. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, @soundwavesphoton! :D For your compliment and comment! ^^

How is that uncomplicated?? I would need few years to paint it and at the end fail miserably lol.

Thanks, have a great day too! :)

Heheh.. Well, you never know ;) Thank you @yaan!:D

You have to keep exploring this! I felt a strong emotional connection to this painting. I remember seeing the Mona Lisa and feeling the same vibe.. very cool!

Thank you so much for your compliments and comment @ldauch! :D And getting the same vibe as from Mona Lisa?! Heheh.. Well, that's my favorite compliment of the year! ;)

It's great to see your process

Glad you enjoy @siloe! :)

Gorgeous transition. Scanning the bottom one even as I write my comment feels like watching her come clearer on a strip of film reel.

Thank you so much @rachelsvparry!! :D Heheh, that's a cool way of looking at it! Thanks ^^

My pleasure! :) Great work!

I guess you should leave it on this stage. It's beautiful and unsaid

I think it would be interesting for sure to do so @allfabeta, seeing as I don't have many paintings that I've left in such an early stage.. :) Thank you for your comment! :)

Great art! You have amazing skills.

Thank you very much @praful! :D

I can see you have a nice friend ;-)

Thats a really nice start, a perfect 'dead layer' ready for a second painting.
Hope you get around to finishing it sometime, its setup perfectly for a beautiful portrait.
