Graffitis: Art or vandalism?

in art •  7 years ago

All the cities of the world have an area that is full of graffiti if it is not that the whole city (like mine) some people are annoyed by this type of drawings everywhere and call it vandalism, others like it and call it art , First let's see what "art" means according to wikipedia:  "In general terms art is called the activity or product in which the human being expresses ideas, emotions or, in general, a vision of the world, through diverse resources; Such as plastics, linguistic, sound or mixed."

Art has to be on the street, at any level and in plain view. The street needs to express itself, mutate, breathe and reinvent itself at every moment and it does so, although not always in the right direction. I mean the graffiti, according to what graffiti and according to what walls.

Circulating on the street I find daily certain graffiti on walls, bridges or facades that are authentic works of art (if we meet the definition above). They express ideas, emotions and a particular vision of the world. However, they are not always displayed in the right places: Some buildings, some facades, could also be considered works of art in themselves: Ask your architects, to see what they think. I also do not find it appropriate, for example, for graffiti to cover entire crystals of Metro cars (canceling their function) or exposing themselves to traffic signs or information signs (endangering road safety). Art should not 'hinder' life, but quite the contrary.
