Cosmic Krishna ...... work in progress

"Seeing Your great effulgent and various coloured form touching the sky" The Bhagavad-Gita

for those who didn't yet read the The Bhagavad-Gita i highly recommend it. it is a gem....an incredible piece of writing. do not miss.... 

In this moment i am working on a piece called "Cosmic Krishna" This is the most exalted chapter of the entire Gita, for here Arjuna sees the divine vision of Krishna in his full nature. This supreme vision dazzles Arjuna with the blinding splendour of a thousand suns. 

That's what i am reaching for, paint a dazzling vision where the viewer will have to close his eyes and still see it in its inner eye. Good challenge for me...

 In all my work i use an old technic called Mischtechnik, which is a mix technic of egg tempera and oil paint. The visual effects created by working in the mixed technique essentially rely upon the phenomenon of light refracting through many subsequent layers of paint.

              

while working i often turn my canvas, see what i discover then.....  

   

On that side is the death of Krishna which in a way is Krishna going back to his Cosmic form.

Another good challenge for me maintaining the two image simultaneously. i really do think its possible.
