Hey all you lovely people

My self and @zneeke decided to enter @veryspiders and @scrawly's awesome team of two art contest
This contest is focused on collaboration which is pretty neat. It also has a set theme, this times it's theme is "Powers".

Time to Collaborate

It all started when @zneeke approached me saying “hey Niko3d, check out veryspiders new contest, I think we should do this its a perfect fit for us” I replied “Of Course!!! This is the greatest idea ever”..... queue Montage music while we flexed our brainstorming muscles.

The Brainstorm

We figured we would split the process in two parts. @zneeke would use his traditional art skills and powers of cute monster design. While I would attack his drawing with colourful splashes of digital paint.
The first idea is almost always the best, well... It was our first and only idea. The brainstorm had been a short blast of brainwaves in sync. Queue 80s style high fives.

The Idea

We decided to superfy some monsters but rather then having real powers they where setting up a super hero scenario. With a monster hoisted high into the sky by another with a homemade pully system and maybe a fan to help the Cape flow. You can see the progression of zneekes design below and his final drawing.

Next I took zneekes scanned drawing and adjusted the contrast on it so I could use his line work easily in Procreate on my iPad.
This meant that I painted primarily underneath his line work allowing his drawing to stay 100% intact.For more info on the process checkout the process video below the final image :-)
