Dungeons & Drag Queens

"What happens when a small town drag queen gets sucked into a realm of sword and sorcery and forced to do much more than lip-sync for her life? "
this was a really fun book cover commission and luckily i preserved some of my painting process.
i started out with a very basic shape of the main hero "Sleazella"
started to define shadows and used reference pics for sleazellas face, the armor and the minotaur head (which was later changed into a skull) i also changed the sword into a more interesting double-blade.
next i established the background, added colors and more detail.
for the final image i gave Sleazella a more decent outfit, gave her some accessories and added glitter and effects.
and at last i also made the title.
hope this was fun to look at and maybe helpful for other artists out there !
have an excellent day,
cheers
