Working in the gorgeous shop that I do, it's difficult to not admire the pieces we have here. A very trendy interiors finish at the moment is copper. Shades of anything metallic, such as gold and copper are really ruling the roost on the decor front.
There is a very mid-century modern meets uber indulgent trend happening now, tons of gorgeous metallic light fixtures, with interesting green and gold wall paper, furniture with simple lines, stunning green and tons of white fluffy fur every where. I'm kinda obsessed.
So, obviously, lighting is my specialty, and we have got so many sublime copper lights at the moment. (cuz I totally bought them all for the shop).
One of my favourites which we have at the moment are these glass copper coloured pendants. I can just imagine a whole row of them in some white marble bar with brass elements. Spot me in the reflection!
Another light which I am totally dying over, is this vintage 1920's ship light. It is totally original, and as you see it, is how it would have been back in the day.
Here you can see the original markings, which I think are Polish.
I have also bought a few copper pieces for my own home, and I must say, they are so beautiful. They really stand out from the other furniture.
Today is my last day at work and I am crazy excited to have a break. I plan to go watch the new Star Wars, have a mani and a massage, make some delish food (obviously - it's me we are talking about here!) and spend some time with my hubby cakes @morkrock, and the rest of the fam. We are taking a few days to go away to Swellendam, which is a few hours away from Cape Town. Very excite!

omg i'm litterally so happy i followed you... like are you kidding me with these freaking cats! im obsessed with cats you have no idea!!!! And look at the place you work at like seriously! Just the fact that you started with "Working in the gorgeous shop that I do" says a lot about your energy towards work. Thats a very lucky thing to have . I too have a nice work spot which i enjoy to go in every day:) but unfortunatly my 13 year old kitty passed away from stomach lymphoma :/ he lived an amazing life though so its okay im just happy he's not suffering anymorre. Yeah I am very fortunate to love my job, it’s a beautiful place and I really enjoy it. My boss and colleagues are also awesome which makes it easy.
