Day One of Two, Portrait Gig.

I'm out the door earlier today, so my post is early too. I have a little mini gig helping some young students learn to make portraits with sharpies, I think. None of the organizers went into any depth about what we're doing. I was passed a link to the work of previous years, and I think I get it. If I'm wrong, I'll find out today. Every day is a new adventure!

I didn't have anything school-like or for kinds that I could think of in my portfolio for this post... except maybe Mikey's character 'Buddy Palamine', the scout leader in Belleville-Ville. If you saw the show, you'd see how very very wrong it is to make that connection. Buddy is a fundraiser-obsessed oddball, and none of his life-lessons for kids make any sense. He frequently gives people advice based on the nonsensical things he remembers his grandfathers, and uncles telling him, like "Darkness is only darkest at night".

That was one of the sanest examples, though. He had one in the past couple months about making a radio out of yogurt and a stick.

I don't know how it's going to go with so many 8-year olds today, but I'm sure it'll be fun.

Weldon buddy.

A most intriguing way of sharing spaghetti ~ I like it, it's very striking and has a certain depth of warmth, friendship :)
