Enough of the distractions, the Summer break is over and it's back to the Workshop to get painting again. A fresh A2 pad and in there with black & white only (for now).

Acrylic paint, ink, charcoal, chalk, pencil, crayon, glue, salt, & fire are the tools and the project to magic something out of the layers and texture. Some fertile soil to spring forth ideas and imagery.

The energy I get watching it is very powerful. Even if the color is dark, it creates a wide space feeling for me. I feel the same when watching my uncle's painting, which I've attached below. 21729180_1589892127723471_1616998746_n.jpg

Cheers Paul, your uncle's painting is really nice. Great composition and balance. I'm working thru things here and clearing the way to do some large paintings.

cool :) i can see something in it.. a pharaoh

Cheers, I keep seeing things in it, forever shifting like it's some kind of divination portal! I guess that's why we keep returning to abstract art and the whole palimpsest rituals.

I love your paintings and it's making me want to break from the self imposed b/w restriction. Only a few weeks to go...
