I am attempting to paint the Eiffel Tower at night while the lights are strobing. Can anyone give me some tips on how I can knock this one out of the park?
This is the actual photo that I took in 2001.
Thanks my fellow artists!
This is a daytime picture of the tower that I painted earlier this year.
OK, I'd start out looking at the positive (light/structure) and negative (all the black) ... draw the shapes of the black first, then paint it black. Make sure its ONLY the black. Not the dark amber values of the lights. The bottom night pic is the strongest composition... so go with that, -plus the colors wont throw you for a loop... you'll probably only need burnt sienna , a cadmium yellow, and white for the highlights (im assuming you're working with acrylics)..... so after the black, you'll work your way up with the burnt sienna (brown) .. do the dark areas with a shade of that... then work up your values till you get to straight tube color, then go lighter with a yellow/sienna mix.. then yellow, then a yellow tint (adding white) ... then pop in your highlights at then VERY end... dont jump straight to highlights, it'll look wrong... oh, and then post your result! :) upvoted, resteemed , following!

Follow what @joshuadavis said and remember to SQUINT to remove details if you get lost. The details will come as you work up towards the lightest parts.
Good luck, i hope you achieve what you set out to do.
I've got a few posts with some drawing tips that could translate if your interested in taking a look at my posts.

You're recent painting looks amazing! Your photography skills are pretty on point as well :) I am no professional, but I do enjoy art (painting and photography especially). My advice is to simply start focusing with the scaling and angles. The angle you took the photo at creates a super dramatic view on the structure so I would start with just getting those angles right. Like I said, I am no artist but I really enjoyed looking at your work in the post. Best of luck! Hope to see the final product soon!

Thank you so much for the encouragement. When I first started painting a subject like the Eiffel Tower would have scared me to death. But now after a couple of dozen painting I'm starting to get more confidence.
