A sword

in art •  7 years ago

So i wanted to recreate an old scene with the sword in a stone. I did that few months ago. But when i was making the sword i realized i didn't want to do that :D because i actually wanted to do it at the first place because i was bored and out of ideas and so i thought i try that.
So when i was making the sword i realized that making a good looking sword could realy be a challenge for me. And to be honest i don't think it is good looking still. Atleast the metal blade part. I dont know what exactly search for to get the authentic look for it. It's hard for me to point out a certain thing of whats wrong or what i should do.
Ohh and let's not start with the holster :D This was the most time consuming part of the sword. I realy learned alot and there was alot of trial and error involved.
Ohh by the way these letters on the blade spell out riotpigeon but its in a realy weird font. :D idk, just had that kind of an idea.
So yeah. Enjoyed that kind of, sometimes thought i just quit but i just couldn't :D too much time had already been used for that. Didn't want to have that feeling i wasted it all. That feeling isnt good.
Ohh and that floor/background i got realy just putting nodes together :D i wanted to see what certain nodes and their combinations do and stuff and got that result at one point, realy liked that and decided to keep it.
And now when i look it does catch an eye that the cross guard is too perfext, should have gave it some inprefections.
For reference images i took the king Arthur sword from the movie. First of all i love that movie and second of all that the most known sword, i mean medieval type. Ofcourse i am no weapon expert :D
Ohh i also learned few things about swords, their parts and how holsters are built :D
