Whilst I am mainly a landscape and seascape artist I wanted to diversify and try something different so I decided to have a go at painting portraits. This is literally the first portrait I have ever painted.

I painted this from life to start with, made sure I set up the lighting correctly in the studio first. After that I referred to photo reference to complete the painting.
