I painted this last week outdoors on location near the town of Alexandra, New Zealand.
This is a small 8” x 10” oil painting on a canvas panel.
There is nothing like painting outdoors, it’s challenging but fun and it really improves your colour mixing and painting skills overall.

Keep doing the thing where you photograph the painting inserted into the landscape backdrop, that's too adorable XD and looks pretty cool too. I love how that rock formation on the right turned out, but I'm a bit of a sucker for interesting rock forms.
