Why Buddha Painting?

Peace is the natural state of society; violence is an unnatural state. Peace is as much in accordance with nature's plan as violence is against it. When peaceful conditions prevail in a society all activities take place in their proper form. I always wanted to paint Gautama Buddha who has very serene face and looking at his face, the peace of mind comes naturally.

Features of Buddha

Some scriptures described 'Buddha' as handsome, good looking and pleasing to the eye, with the most beautiful complexion. In another scripture, the physical traits of the Buddha are depicted as "Marvellous, serene, radiant and having a clear complexion, just as the golden jujube is autumn is clear and radiant."

I tried to capture the typical features of Buddha including long earlobes, monk’s robes, body erect and upright, full round shoulders, eyelashes like a royal bull etc.

I gave it a statue effect with the cave background and sunlight source from top. This painting will give the 3D effect when the focus light is put from the front.
