Gliese +100, Digital Art, 2018

Dear friends,

I created the artwork above on May 23rd as part of the #maysketchaday challenge. It's part of a series called "Cloud Atlas". Here is an excerpt from that series, that I had published in one of my summary posts.

Yesterday I decided to tokenize the artwork using Digital Art Chain and today I've put it on auction using the OpenSea platform.

As you can see, I've set the starting price to 0.15 ETH, but if nobody buys it, the price will continuously lower until it reaches 0.1 ETH in 6 days.

Naming

The piece reminded me of some sort of warp engine powered spaceship, which is approaching a pink planet. So I looked up "Pink Planet" and found Gliese 504 b, "a Jovian planet or a brown dwarf in the system of the solar analog 59 Virginis (GJ 504)", who has just been discovered in 2013. More infos

The term Gliese refers to the "Catalogue of Nearby Stars", which has been published by German astronomer Wilhelm Gliese since 1957.

While the "Pink Planet" is refered to as "Gliese 504 b" my artwork was the 604th token, that was created with the help of Digital Art Chain. Therefore I'd like to call it "Gliese +100".

Fashion

In case you're wondering, what to do with a digitial artwork like this, here are some more ideas:

Swag

For example you can use a service like CryptoGoods to let it print on a T-shirt. Or you could create printed textiles and use it like a poncho. Just watch the wind, when you do ;-)

If you prefer, you can certainly print and frame it or just hodl it, until the value of my art moons.

Summary

This is your chance to invest in a unique piece of crypto-art. Please head over to OpenSea and get it, before someone else is faster!

I saw the Tom Hanks film "Cloud Atlas," and it was super elaborate and complex, but the general theme, of how the future is informed by the past, is reflected in the way your threads all shoot out from the centre.

In a way this comment is similar, as it is one thread shooting out from your original post, but it is also the reverse, as it carries some of your own delegated SP back to you. :)

Very interesting thoughts. I believe in a kind of collective consciousness, where at some point everything is connected with (and effects) everything else.

Maybe there is also something like the cause-effect relationship, that some people relate to as Karma.

However, I appreciate, that you took the time to remind me of these principles ;-)

Very nice my friend and yes you can do a lot with the art you create. Thanks for sharing @shortcut
