From Mongolio to Melbourne: Heesco's head-turner at the District

in art •  7 years ago

Check out BURN CITY, a Heesco painting in Docklands District, Melbourne. The ape probably represents a party animal. This painting is near the East End car park at the District. You won't miss it if you are going to Melbourne Star or to the shopping strip.

Docklands is fast shrugging off its reputation as a ghost city. For far too long, Old Melbourne has given a very cold shoulder to Docklands. It has been thumbing its nose for its lack of character -- yes the place used to be dotted with empty apartment blocks. Now, Docklands is like a little Singapore but with a hint of Melbourne. At least artists like Heesco are changing the landscape into something very trendy and radically urban. This painting clearly indicates the changing face of Docklands.

Many of Heesco's paintings in the Dandenong area is inspired by wolves and they play an important part in the Mongolian mythology and culture. I'm not quite sure what has motivated Heesco to do the Monkey with the stereo. It's just amazing to watch his paintings!

This street mural in Docklands at the District is a real head-turner.

Hey @sidsun
I love such wall paintings too ... it's a great opportunity for artists to share their creativity with the public ( as long as it is not any kind of ugly 'gang graffiti' - which is kind of destroying the picture of a citiy ... )
