Painting of Myself and My Stenciled T-Shirt Design

I had the idea that people don't like paintings of people they don't know.

I like to paint the faces of random people... but if the face is disguised or hidden then... I could sell that painting easier.

OMG! I just realized that I might be really bad at painting faces! LOL No, that's not it.

My husband took the photo of me while standing on the bed... It's a tiny painting. It's water soluble oil paints (& yes, that's actually a thing.)

I stenciled these chicken feet onto a t-shirt. It's my son's shirt. I stretched it out a bit in the chest. Sorry, Buddy!

Do you know how hard it is to get a chicken to make you a nice set of prints? My technique was to actually dip the chicken's feet in water and set her on cement and then take a photo of the prints. It took a lot of tries to get it right. But she didn't mind much. I didn't even get pecked at.

Next opened the photo in Photoshop, traced the foot prints and uploaded the art file to http://www.spreadshirt.com/silversmyth . Might as well make a buck off it, right? But was too cheap to order one for me. Frugal, not cheap.
Printed out my design and put packing tape over the paper, then used an Xacto knife to cut out the prints.

I used white acrylic paint to stencil it using a round flat bristle stencil brush. (Very important to use the right kind of brush when stenciling.) Other types of painting are more forgiving. The second coat was acrylic glow in the dark paint.

I completely forgot about it glowing in the dark until a few nights ago. In the dark, lying in bed, I saw those feet walking toward me. My little buddy couldn't sleep so he crawled in between Hubby and me. He managed to fall right to sleep, while I lay awake watching him and treasuring every moment of him looking peaceful and clinging onto me.

Chicken prints are great! Haha i can imagine the difficulty of holding it still long enough to get an accurate outline!
