Thinking about the moon landing

in art •  5 years ago

Are you ready to celebrate the 50° anniversary of the Moon landing? I'm almost ready to celebrate this wonderful anniversary with one of my painting and this is one of the sketches I made today to study the idea I have in my mind:

During these last days, on the italian tv and on the pages of newspapers and magazines there are a lot of articles about that first step on the Moon. Old and new interviews,  docu movies and everything here remeber us that days that became a great part of the recent history.

I really can't image how people was excited at that time, when the Apollo 11 took the astronauts for the first time on the moon! I can't  image the sensations that Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins felt during that exciting mission!

You have to know that when I was a young girl, I wanted to become an astronaut and I used to read everything about space missions and similar. My teacher encouraged me and my curiosity about it and even if (as you know ^_^ ) I'm not an astronaut, but an artist, I'm so happy to know that  the new generation is interested to know more about the space! Here in Italy, when our Samantha Cristoforetti (we call her "Astro Samantha"), few years ago, was the first italian wooman in the space, a lot of children started to want to know more about her mission and it was fanstastic to see all those little ones wih the same curiosity I had during my childhood!

Well, now I have to work on the oil painting to celebrate that day,

see ya soon
