drawing journal; how to get yourself motivated + tea obsession

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

i started drawing frequently from 2017. the reason i started was because i found quite a few sketch books i bought did some doodling and left unfinished or even never ever touched despite the fact it has been more than 10 yrs since i got it.
the very first one i found used just few pages goes up to 1999.
of course i have colour pencels, crayola, paints etc lots of them still unused.
so at the end i decided to use them.
it was that simple.

"let's use what i have."

that means i don't have to spend further money i just need motivation and little bit of time to sit still.
on 1st jan 2017, the year of chicken, i drew a calm looking chicken with a wish my new year goes peacefully.
then i had to think about how this brand new project to be managed.
i started to set up small rules.

  1. do my best to just use what i have; no shopping
  2. draw 5 items every week
  3. don't spend more than 30 mins drawing
  4. no matter how much badly done, upload it to sns account

to be honest, for #2, i thought i would not be able to finish this project.
however surprisingly, i got it through for one year. yes, there was a week i only drew one thing then another week i drew eleven so by the end of year, which was 52 week, i drew more than i supposed to do.
because i have been uploading them on my sns accounts, i happened to have steady followers even.
(nah, not like 1000s or anything just more or less 100)
doing it regularly, my drawing skill improved and i start to want more and to do better.
(support from follower helped too)
that longing led me to make my own sketch book spend more time on researching.

last year, i completed all the 7 sketch books; 6 i found, 1 new.

now i am extending weekly project until i reach to 100th week. meanwhile small project is daily drawing journal to complete my crappy sketch book that i bonded as a practice.
im drawing life around me. first one was previous post and here is the second one.

i am a tea junkie can't live without tea.
(my body don't accept coffee)
when you work, you need something simple and quick, so i usually like to drink using teabags.
mug should be big enough not to make me concerned if this tea is enough to drink or not.

"no tea no life
yes tea yes everything"

:)

well,
if you want to keep pushing yourself to do something, show it to the world.
that might bring you big motivation and you will keep on doing what you planned to do.
once you achieve the result, that satisfaction is quite big.
also, don't hesitate it.
Just Do It.
