Why Art and Concept of Art Changing Form ?

in art •  7 years ago  (edited)

Let me start with a question again you know I love it . When was the last time you went to a modern art or contemperory art exhibition ? I don't go much too maybe 3 times a year. However in the last couple of years displayment of art and concept changed and I'm pretty sure it become quite complex for some people like me. If you express yourself in an unique way it may considered as art by critics in these days.

Why is that happening ?

Art has been an important concept since the beggining of the civilization however ,When you check the last 10 decades of human history you won't see much differences between the art work. Well ofcourse there were distruptive ones true work of geniuses however expressing yourself was limited.

Surprisingly when we take a look a quick peak to the 20th century art. We may notice that this glass called art have been dropped to the floor and shattered down to the thousand pieces and now those pieces are considered as art too but why are the leaving and drifting apart from classical art norms ? The answer is simple when you check the socio-cultural and economic changes in the last 80 years most of the fields changed. Philosophy , music , art anything you can imagine.

There is a term called Allienation he first used this in an article about Fordist Era. The main idea behind this is about factory workers getting strange to their work and effort because of the new production lines and in the end they will be allienated to themselves and be just one door knob adjuster instead of a skillfull crafter. Well you will say that hey steeminator this is not our topic ?

Well like all those workers there are workers in the art who constantly seeks harmony and integrity in his work and also there are some who is trying to disrupt this harmony and create something without harmony. This is same in every area you just have to check it.

Eventhough you may end up saying WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT? after a modern art exhibit. You have a chance to say WOW without even understanding the concept. However a lot of those early modern art work you said wow tried to express the allienation of the societies in their own way.

Good part is the cloud of elitism on the art is fading away and everyone is free to express themselves in a way they see appropriate and good part is it is called art. Eventhough I don't enjoy consuming every side of the modern art . I'm pretty sure @hansikhouse and @voronoi will rage me. However I'm really afraid that all types of art is going to be consumer product for masses something so easy to consume in the future years and I really don't want that to be happen I don't want it to become another habit in our capitalist way of consuming.

In art we have two parameters, the creators and the collectors. Collectors have the way with the help of art critics and the media, to influence the demand for artworks in order to have an economic benefit but also
contemporary artists who have friends of art critics can promot to their works. Today I think art works like the stock market. But that does not mean that there are no great creators, just left in obscurity except for some exception.....-is my opinion-! Very informative post. Thanks for share! :)

I went to a very small local art gallery back when I was in the States, which was early May of this year. It was mostly paintings of all kinds by local artists, including some abstract, but most of them portrayed the area and the shoreline/coast. There were some handmade mugs and other trinkets made by local artists for sale as well.

In the realm of modern art, a lot of it can be very interesting and slightly odd (in a good way). The photo you posted here with the front bucket loader and branches reminds me of something I've heard people call "up-cycling." A few of my friends do this with some of their own stuff, but not in an art gallery worthy way. Since we live in a world that is full of materialistic goods in outrageous quantities, I find that if people can "up-cycle", it is putting someone else's waste to better use. It is like recycling with creativity, which I think can be very neat and unique. We as individuals all have our own taste and flavor for what appeals to our senses, but if people are able to truly be creative in whatever way they can, I think that is a wonderful outlet and we should all be happy they are able to express themselves in a constructive way. If nothing else, their work can be admired for trying something new.

Oh yeah I can admit that this is one of the good parts of it.

Makes you think about what is art. If you think it is, then it is art, at least for you it is.

Yeah exactly in these days if it makes you think and you get your own meaning from it its art in these days :D

I am completely in agreement with you, society changes, everything changes, now it may be difficult for us to accept it. but later we will not realize it, it will be normal. from my point of view.

Yeah I agree that too !

Hey bro can anyone tell me what does we get in resteem?

Nothing !

Are u sure i have heard that it increases rank

Yes, art changes with culture, but the history of art, and the ways and reasons for its evolution is more complicated than your presentation. Also, I'm not totally sure what your central idea is either. Artist's, whether shown in museums, galleries, or independent institutions, or not have been defining the visual landscape of culture for centuries. What do you mean by "all types of art is going to be consumer product for the masses"? Also, saying anything is art is a bit too simple, don't you think? I'm not trying to advertise my feed, but I've outlined some 'criteria' for evaluating exhibitions and art in an earlier post, I think it would be informative for you to check out. Let's discuss @steeminator3000!

Well I really think calling everything art is a little too simple however whenever I go to an exhibition that is what I'm facing maybe I'm to dull to understand modern art or I'm too old minded when it comes to that topic but I don't know. To be honest I worry about the fact that lots of things is going to called art also will do thanks for this insightfull comment.

This is very good article to think about the modern society and its values, nowadays everything could be interpret as art, to this situation I recall a movie where in the workshop of artist by the end of the day the cleaner picked up one of his work and could not understand what is it , so asked an artist : Is it an art or can be disposed? Funny, but it is a life.

Your artwork looking great, @steeminator3000

good topic and good questions..when it comes to this I always remember this one ..somehow it gives a lot answers from different angles
