1/365 -- 1 Year of Art Improvement -- A Short Introduction

in art •  7 years ago

Hi everyone,

My name is Dan and I want to work as an animator.

I need to learn a lot of skills before this can happen and that is why I started this blog.
In order to learn as much as possible I am going to ask help from you guys (and gals).
Feel free to critique my work, give me tips, or call me a slacker if I fail to post regularly!

Now let's get started...

I figured it probably would be smart to start out simple.
Thats why I started day 1 with 30 minutes of tutorials from Drawabox.com

Focusing on line work: building parallel lines. superimposing lines on top of each other.
All of these lines were meant to be drawn from the shoulder.
I notice that I have the tendency to resort to the elbow very quickly, this is something I will watch. In addition, I have a lot of difficulty sticking to the normal lessons.
After 3 or 4 lines I feel like drawing an exploding dragon, which is a lot more exciting of course.... but basics first. basics are key. sigh.

Also, I grip the pencil as if I'm expecting someone to steal it from me.
Note to self: keep it loosey goosey.

Cya tomorrow!

Cheers,

Dan
