One of the suggestions my friend made when they encouraged me to practice sketching was that I draw characters from/for the stories I write. Of course, my first reaction was
because yeah, no way my skills were at a level that high.
Today, though? I might be convinced to change my mind.

cuz everyone needs a regular character, right? But then, I drew this
and suddenly, I'm back in speculative fiction territory and I just might need to write a new story to match this face.
