PLASTIC DRAWING CONTEST: STUFFED FISH FOR HAPPY MEAL

A contrast of happy meal which the parents don't have any better food to offer their child but a stuffed fish that has dieted for plastic.
A concept about the future if we don't take good care of our food resources.

We know that the Earth we live in is composed most of waters. The waters which have become part of our lives since the beginning of life. The waters which have given us bread and butter. The waters which have bestowed us great sceneries and attractions. The waters which we are still not 100% certain of what creatures are lurking deep below. And the waters which one day will retaliate because of our mischievousness and insensitiveness as stewards of nature.

Today's era has taken us into massive industrialization as a result of elaborate advancements. We may have upgraded our lives but we have forgotten about manning our environment and taking care of it.

Our oceans have been suffering pollution since then and mitigation practices were somewhat taken for granted by us. Infact, a lot of studies came up with a conclusion that there is 10 Million tonnes of plastic waste that ends up in our oceans every year.

According to @platicbank.com:

»plastics are estimated to represent almost 80% of the total marine debris floating in the world's oceans

»on average, 46,000 pieces of plastic are swirling in each square mile of our oceans

»fishes in the middle depths of the northern pacific ocean are ingesting as much as 24,000 tons of plastic each year

»267 species around the world are harmed by plastic that includes 86% of sea turtles, 44% of sea birds, and 43% of ocean mammals ingest or become tangled in plastic

Here are the top ten most items collected as appeared in @oceanconservancy

The results are actually quite alarming and as predicted by @scooowhoop.com by 2025 a ton of fish will be equal to three tons of fish and by 2050 a ton of plastic will be equal to a ton of fish.

Remember that plastics are not easily decomposed. These items are part of our daily lives and if we could just stop or minimize using plastic then we can help clean our oceans, perpetuate creatures, and save our own lives.

We are too engrossed about the goods that our waters have to offer but in return we are not serious enough in taking actions to quell the dying life of our oceans.

If we do not act sincerely on this obvious matter, one day imminent problems will branch out to another catastrophe. We shall never eat sumptuous dishes from our waters again. We shall never see beautiful seascapes again. We shall never have balance of nature again specifically in our food pyramid. And various animals will go extinct.

With that, let us all do our responsibility in taking good care of our oceans. A simple step is worth a milestone in preserving one's existence especially the bond between nature and humans.

This is my entry to the plastic contest as spearheaded by Miss @jacinta.sevilla

Thank you very much for inspiring me to thrive on this milieu of ocean issues and concerns. This is such a great idea.

So keep on spreading valuable sympathy to this world. Godbless.

Here's how I did my obra.

SKETCHING
I used pencil to do the outline.

ADDING EMPHASIS ON PLASTIC
Since plastic is our main topic I used different coloring items to add emphasis to it.

True! Someday we will be eating this. Or maybe a fish won't even grow in this size when the oceans get very dirty.. Nice work!

Yes it is very alarming. Plastic companies must also impose mitigation activities to combat the issue. As well as working together for a common goal. Thank you very much! :-)

This is so true.
I love the new facts u put in!
Thanks si much for joining. Upvoted and resteemed ♥️💖

Also, @hiddenblade is right, some fish won't grow up to that size anymore if we the sea will be so dirty. :(
