I've often thought about world-building, even when its just for something like a illustration such as yours.
Do displays matter in the future? Are we networked in such a way that external stimuli isn't as emphasized? Do streets even exist outside of walkways? Would we even need them with autonomous vehicles?
Just a bunch of branching thoughts all layered on the base assumptions of what a society would look like far into the future. I like your illustration, and it inspires forking paths of thought and conjecture.
I recall a promotional poster that was done for "Cyberpunk 2077" in the early beta-phase. There was a cop holding a weapon, pointing it a female android that had extended blades from her arms.
In the background, there's a fire escape, with a ladder that could extend to the sidewalk. It was odd, and threw me a bit on the whole premise. Bits of history stick around and are propagated into the future, but somehow I couldn't make the leap that 1900's era fire escapes would be part of a futuristic cityscape.
Great work, and please keep sharing your extrapolations of the future.
