Guache: Street art / Guache Arte callejero

in art •  8 years ago  (edited)

Guache is a term wrongly used to describe someone rude in my country, Colombia. Actually, it comes from 'güecha' which means warrior, brave and proud. This is the name of the project of a colombian street artist that gets in charge of giving life to the gray walls of the cities. I'm writing this because I love to see his paintings when I go throught Bogotá, the city where I live, and I found relevant to show you guys his work. It is a pleasure then, to introduce you to Óscar González.

I love this concept because Guache reaches to immortalize the valuable and rich of our indigenous culture as colombians, his art is touching and aggressive, relevant and consequent. If you want to see more, check out his Facebook page or his Web page. Thanks for reading me ☻
